If you an experienced Production Manager seeking a dynamic opportunity to lead and optimise production operations in the thriving pet food industry? Our client is searching for an accomplished Production Manager to join their team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee and elevate our production processes, ensuring the delivery of high-quality pet food products while championing efficiency, safety, and innovation.

This is a Monday to Friday role with the hours of work being 8:00 am – 17:00. The salary for this role is 64k-68k.

Key Responsibilities:

The responsibilities associated with this role encompass a wide range of tasks, including but not limited to:

• Oversee and optimise all facets of production facility performance, with a focus on maximising efficiency and labour utilisation.
• Generate and manage production and management data, including downtime tracking, waste management, process documentation, non-conformance reports, and on-hold logs. Take appropriate actions based on this data.
• Maintain unwavering adherence to company, customer, and legal standards pertaining to food safety and quality assurance.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to address identified issues, escalating them to the Factory Manager when necessary.
• Chair daily production meetings involving supervisors from various areas, as well as representatives from maintenance, quality control, and material supply teams.
• Ensure that production parameters are optimised to consistently deliver high-quality products meeting specified standards.
• Monitor and control all costs to ensure operations stay within budgetary constraints.

Skills / Qualifications / Experience:

To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications, skills, and experience:

• A minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a similar role or environment.
• In-depth knowledge of the intricacies of fast-paced manufacturing businesses.
• Essential experience in project management, with a proven track record of successful project execution.
• Demonstrated expertise in team development and management, showcasing the ability to cultivate and lead high-performing teams.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate effective collaboration and teamwork.
• Proficiency in “management by walking around” and the ability to make decisive decisions in rapidly changing situations.
• A leadership style that encourages individuals to take ownership and responsibility for their tasks and projects.
• A willingness to challenge existing production methods, personnel, processes, and product recipes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
