My client based in Wicklow is seeking a ICT Security and Project Support Engineer. This is a brand new role that will be responsible for planning, deployment, and delivery so security measures to protect the client’s network.
This role necessitates ensuring that suitable safeguards are established to secure business information and data against unauthorized access, deliberate attacks, theft, and tampering. These responsibilities extend to continual management, vigilant monitoring, thorough auditing, and comprehensive reporting on the various facets of Information Security controls.
This role is a Monday-Friday role offering a hybrid model with 2 days in the office and 3 from home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Security Governance & Standards:
- Collaborate in shaping and enacting Information Security policies and managing the Information Security Management System (ISMS).
- Contribute to the formulation of relevant Business Continuity Plans (BCP) from an Information Security perspective.
Security Incident Management:
- Take ownership of the Information Security Incident Management Process.
- Aid in the management and reporting of incidents, coordinating necessary follow-up actions, and ensuring their execution.
- Guarantee proper closure of Security Incidents within specified timeframes, with appropriate escalation as needed.
Cyber Risk Management:
- Provide oversight and reporting on all risks related to information security, encompassing cyber risks and risks associated with safeguarding personal data throughout the organization.
- Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA) to discern risks linked to personal data processing and demonstrate compliance with GDPR and related data protection laws.
- Participate in assessing risks to information, assets, and personnel security.
- Participate in diverse support and delivery roles for a range of ICT infrastructure projects, as appropriate.

Technical/Professional Competencies:
Essential:
- FETAC Level 7 or equivalent IT qualification.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an Information Security environment.
- Familiarity with information security and risk control frameworks like NIST Cyber Security, COBiT, ISO 27001, etc.
- Experience in configuring and deploying various security tools and solutions.
- Project Delivery: Experience in projects utilizing Prince2 or PMI methodologies.
- Desirable:
- Completion of training and/or qualifications such as CISSP, CISM, MCP, CompTIA, or equivalent.
- Experience in Information Systems like Office 365, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, Firewalls, Network, Storage, SIEM, DR, Immutable Backup solutions, Cloud Services.
- IT Service Knowledge: Familiarity with ITIL service management framework and processes is advantageous.
