Role: Food Production Supervisor

Our esteemed Food Manufacturing client is looking to recruit a Food Production Supervisor to plan, lead, direct, and monitor all production and maintenance activities to maximize the use of the organization’s resources. Ensure the delivery of finished goods that meet customer demand and establish production specifications and schedules.

Location: Naas, Co. Kildare
Salary:    €37,500
Full-time –  Permanent

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the production team to achieve all targets, organizing overtime with the Plant Manager when required.
  • Attend daily production meetings and address any issues.
  • Manage attendance, timekeeping, overtime, and annual leave.
  • Delegate and organize work to meet production targets, including output, waste, yield, and efficiency.
  • Ensure quality and production targets are met, fulfilling customer delivery requirements.
  • Promote effective communication within the department and with other departments.
  • Conduct employee appraisals and probationary performance reviews.
  • Address employee grievances and disciplinary issues with the Plant Manager/HR department.
  • Escalate any significant problems to the Plant Manager as necessary.
  • Review production/management data to ensure compliance.
  • Complete first-off/final checks online.
  • Monitor and control production tools, probes, machine parts, and other items.
  • Manage energy conservation and waste segregation.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic work area and machinery.
  • Ensure all equipment is operated according to training and all staff are trained and signed off.
  • At all times, adhere to hygiene, safety procedures, and Quality systems, ensuring CCP points are under control.
  • Suggest new initiatives and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure all SOPs are current and reviewed annually, and train staff in the latest SOP versions.
  • Ensure products are produced and packed according to company/customer specifications, adhering to the “get it right first time” motto.
  • Minimize waste and write-offs by effectively handling and using all ingredients and finished products.
  • Liaise with maintenance and other staff to address and resolve issues, ensuring continuous materials supply to the production line.

Skills / Qualifications / Experience:

  • Proficiency in company computer systems/software, Excel, and Word.
  • Good knowledge of company processes, procedures, and quality systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Previous people management experience is desirable.
  • Proven leadership skills and a track record of delivering results.
  • Excellent written and verbal English.
  • Motivated self-starter with a decisive attitude.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work on own initiative.
  • High standards of work, flexibility, and adaptability.
  • Collaborative approach to developing best practices.
  • Initiative-driven and highly energized.
