Job Specification: FMCG Supply and Demand Manager

Location: Ashbourne, Co. Meath

About the Client: Our client is a well-respected leader in the cosmetics and skincare industry, operating throughout Ireland and Europe. As the brand evolves, it has become a prominent player in the beauty market over recent years. They seek a Supply and Demand Manager with extensive experience in the FMCG sector, particularly in high-volume environments, new product development (NPD), and international contracts, exports, and imports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with demand (sales & marketing), finance, and NPD/Innovation teams to improve forecast accuracy within the Procurement & Supply Chain department.
  • Source and procure all delivered products and office needs, ensuring alignment with supply chain timelines and requirements.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels in distribution centres and with domestic and international commercial partners.
  • Optimise and implement planning tools and processes as part of the S&OP internal process.
  • Conduct logistics planning processes to achieve the best net product price.
  • Review acquisition costs to ensure purchases are made at the lowest cost, considering quality, reliability, and urgency.
  • Assess inventory, growing conditions, seasonality, promotional activity, and logistics to determine order quantities.
  • Complete and input Purchase Orders using the mainframe system.
  • Review and resolve pre-books received from stores or division personnel before purchasing.
  • Review and analyse daily and weekly reports to check service levels and inventory turns, making necessary adjustments.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with suppliers, store operations, distribution centres, and company office personnel.

Experience & Skill-set:

  • Excellent analytic, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills to interface with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Aiming to meet or exceed inventory turnover goals and service levels.
  • Understanding of procurement, logistics, and inventory management practices.
  • Detailed planning and organisational skills.
  • Experience in FMCG international procurement or a similar field; experience with Sage or similar software is desirable.
  • Experience with international supplier and vendor management processes and continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in PC skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Purchasing, Business, or a related discipline is beneficial.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience within the Supply Planning or Procurement function.
