We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Culinary Innovation Chef to join our clients team, located in Naas, Co. Kildare. The ideal candidate will have a strong culinary background and a passion for food innovation. This role involves developing new product concepts, recipe development, and presenting these concepts to various retailers.

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop innovative product concepts based on customer briefs and existing product redevelopment.
  • Recipe development across various product categories, ensuring alignment with manufacturing and technical requirements.
  • Present new product concepts and samples to manufacturing, food service, and retail customers.
  • Handle repeat customer sample requests, ensuring consistency and timely submissions with proper documentation.
  • Communicate project deliverables internally and externally to meet customer requirements.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork, including approved recipes, new raw material data, recipe costings, and product information sheets.
  • Organise and prepare product samples for daily dispatch to customers.
  • Prepare ingredient and packaging orders through inventory control against SOP.
  • Attend customer update meetings and facilitate project approvals through the stage gate process.
  • Communicate daily with external customers and the commercial team regarding project deliverables to ensure timely and complete responses to customer briefs.
  • Coordinate benchmarking of competitor products, including application testing.
  • Attend internal development meetings and sensory analysis panels as required.
  • Assist Technologists and Managers with specific customer projects.
  • Stay updated on market insights, consumer and restaurant trends, and competitor activities.
  • Assist in maintaining the development kitchen as a safe working environment meeting GMP standards.
  • Support the Senior Development Chef and Executive Innovation Chef in meeting project deadlines.
  • Present proactive innovation presentations to retailers.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects within the Innovation Centre.
  • Perform general administration, kitchen, and office duties.

Qualifications/Experience Required: 

  • Degree in Culinary Arts or a similar qualification with experience in fine dining establishments.
  • A passion and love for food.
  • Proactive, positive attitude.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills.
  • Creative and solution-oriented thinker.
  • Team player.
  • Current knowledge of food innovation trends, with a strong understanding of Irish and international cuisine and culinary trends.
  • Excellent product presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint is preferable (training will be provided)

Compensation: 

  • Competitive salary: €38,000 – €42,000 DOE
  • 20 days Annual Leave
  • Hours of work: 08:30am – 5.00pm, Monday to Friday
