Our client based in West Wicklow is seeking a Commercial Account Manager to join their fast-growing team. The role would suit a dynamic individual that has 2+ years of experience in Account Management. This is to provide support to the Managing director onside with both the external customer Management and internal operations. This is a full-time permanent role in the office in West Wicklow. Account Management

  • Ability to generate and action new sales leads
  • Meeting and where possible exceeding sales targets both personal and team
  • Assist in the negotiation of contracts with both new/prospective and existing clients, ensuring that the company is fully protected in the same
  • Client Management – ensure all client contact is professional and timely
  1. Visit clients and potential clients to evaluate needs or promote products and services
  2. Responding to emails / phone calls / requests in a timely fashion
  3. Deal with challenging queries escalated from the wider team and where required engage a senior member of the company to assist
  4. Answering client questions about credit terms, products, prices, and availability
  • Keeping current with industry developments and consumer trends, and tailoring them to individual clients where appropriate and sharing with the wider team
  • Identify the potential for out of scope projects for existing and new clients
  • Liaise with clients regarding requirements, building strong professional relationships
  • Demonstrate best in class negotiation skills in all aspects of campaign delivery, and develop negotiation skills among the wider team
  • Maintaining client records, populate ‘Sharpspring’ with business opportunities in a timely and accurate fashion

Product Management

  • Maintain an in-depth product knowledge, market data, product positioning, customer profile, process management, product cycle
  • Support the development of strategy to retain key premier position as the preeminent quality herb grower supplier
  • Working to achieve overall site ROI and through the team maintaining product margin, budget targets, service levels, quality control, NPD, supply chain, innovation, training, staff development, procurement
  • Working with the Operations Manager to ensure the business looks to streamline and drive efficiencies where possible
  • Developing and implementing growth strategies to become bigger and better, streamline what we have, reduce costs, increase profitability
  • Present information within reports both internally and if required externally to customers
  • Understand and report on productivity levels within the team, have KPIs
  • Assist in determining the pricing schedules for quotes, promotions, and negotiations

  • Attendance at internal and external training sessions to facilitate ongoing self-improvement
  • Flexibility is essential to delivery of client requirements and supporting the wider team members
    • Working beyond your ‘normal’ working hours is often a requirement
    • Work can have a seasonal element, e.g. Christmas will mean additional and ad hoc working days including weekends from Dec 8th to Jan 10 inclusive

We operate a 7 day rota so weekend work will be a requirement


Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or higher in business, food business or related subject is essential
  • Strong team player with a willingness to go the extra mile for clients and your team
  • Demonstrates excellent commercial acumen
  • Attention to detail and rigour
  • Knowledge and understanding of the food industry
  • Excellent presentation skills and IT skills
  • Proven record of building strong professional and personal relationships, showing high levels of empathy and conversational ability
